Soundac DTM is a light weight one component acrylic multi-purpose coating compound (Polymer dispersion with mineral fillers), providing thermal barrier and condensation control and is suitable for various applications such as marine vessels like workboats, yachts, and leisure crafts. Soundac DTM enhances safety and comfort by addressing condensation issues that traditional insulation cannot. It also stabilizes temperatures and is easy to apply in tight spaces, helping vessels meet marine classification standards by reducing weight. Soundac DTM can be applied in various thicknesses, e.g. about 1-2 mm, and creates a barrier to keep the surface temperature above the dew point, preventing condensation and moisture damage.
Examples of application are:
- Stiffeners
- Hulls and walls
- Overheads
- Pipes
- Tanks

Application
Ensure that the surface where the Soundac DTM should be applied is clean and free from grease, dust, grit, rust, or any other dirt. The surface should be grounded free from weld spots and other lumps and a normal shop primer applied.
In order to ensure a good attachment to the structure it is recommended that stainless steel and aluminium surfaces are pre-treated with wash primer and steel surfaces are sand blasted or painted. Note that T-pro does not provide anti-corrosion.
It may be required to mix the Soundac DTM product in the can before using. Soundac DTM can be applied by a trowel or spray gun to required thickness.
Since Soundac DTM can be sprayed, it is easy to apply the material on large surfaces. If the thickness required is higher than 2 mm the material must be applied in two steps. First a layer with a maximum thickness of 2 mm is applied and dried out.
Afterwards a second layer can be applied also with maximum 2 mm thickness. The working climate should be about 18 – 24 oC and the surface where T-pro is to be applied should not be colder than 18 oC or warmer than 30 oC. Lower surface temperatures will increase dry times. Soundac DTM creates a great anti-condensation barrier after application. Full hardness will be achieved after 48 hours. Ensure well-ventilated room condition. Constricted areas condition will increase the dry times.
Safety clothing & gloves as well as N95 particulate respirator mask are recommended.
Consult safety data sheet before using/applying.
